Summer in Whitefish runs from the lake to the top of Big Mountain, and most of it sits within an easy ride of the shop. Here is where to spend the days.
Whitefish Lake
City Beach is a short ride from downtown. Whitefish Lake State Park on the west shore has a swimming beach, a boat launch and campsites, and rents paddleboards and kayaks from mid June through Labor Day. Every boat, paddleboard included, needs an inspection before it goes in, so give yourself a few extra minutes.
The Whitefish Trail
Dozens of miles of singletrack loop through the hills around town, with trailheads at Lion Mountain, Spencer Mountain, Swift Creek and more. Our Class 1 e-bikes are built for exactly this kind of riding. Ask us which trailhead fits your group and we will point you there.
Big Mountain
Whitefish Mountain Resort keeps the lifts turning all summer. Ride the chair up for the view and a meal at the summit, then pick your way down: the alpine slide, the zip line tour, the aerial adventure park, or more than twenty miles of lift-served mountain bike trails. Hiking trails leave from the summit and the village, and late summer brings huckleberries along the slopes.
Downtown
Central Avenue is a few blocks of restaurants, breweries, galleries and shops, with the Tuesday farmers market filling the north end of town through the summer. Park the bike once and walk it.
Glacier National Park
West Glacier is about half an hour east. The park holds more than 700 miles of trails and a dozen campgrounds, and Going-to-the-Sun Road is the ride of a lifetime on an e-bike. Read our Going-to-the-Sun Road guide before you go, and check nps.gov for current conditions and vehicle reservation rules. Conditions change; check nps.gov before you leave.
Pick a day, reserve your e-bikes, and start at the shop.
